Competence Assurance & Assessment - Freelance Personnel

The IMCA competence guidance sets out a framework within which contractors can implement their own schemes to demonstrate the competence of their personnel. However, while the primary initial focus was on directly employed personnel, freelance and agency personnel are a key part of the offshore workforce.

IMCA has therefore developed an information pack setting out the background to IMCA's guidance and providing additional guidance on various position. The aim is for freelance personnel to be able to assemble a portfolio of evidence, containing work records and details on assessments, which can be provided to potential employers in a common format that can be recognised and understood by IMCA member contractors.

It is hoped and should benefit both the companies involved, through being able to use these records to assess potential personnel and avoiding potential unnecessary duplication of effort, and the individual freelancers, who will hopefully find it easier to demonstrate their experience and move from company to company as required.

The freelance competence information pack is available as a free download - click here to download now.
