Security
IMCA's Security Task Force helps members address concerns relating to security, piracy and terrorism through sharing of information, briefing and development of industry guidance.
As marine construction expands around the world, security of assets and personnel, both in transit and onsite, is fundamental.
A dedicated IMCA task force develops industry good practice guidance, provides a forum for sharing security-related information and undertakes other initiatives to benefit the industry.
This work has particular relevance in the current environment of heightened security threats in many parts of the world. A key development came in December 2002 when the International Maritime Organization adopted the International Ship & Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code, which had a number of implications for IMCA members.
Publications produced by the task force to date are listed below. Members should log in for a more extensive resource, including additional briefing on security, ISPS Code, personnel identification and related issues.
