Training, Certification & Personnel Competence (TCPC)

Work Programme

The following work programme was agreed at the beginning of 2006. It sets out the technical projects to be addressed by the TCPC Core Activity over the coming year, in line with the Association's overall objectives.

 
  • Competence:
    • Monitor implementation of IMCA guidelines, with work as appropriate to assist members on issues identified
    • Address issues specific to each sector, using workshops as necessary
    • Study use of simulators
    • Review of IMCA C 001-5 - Competence assurance and assessment: Guidance document and competence tables
     
  • Training:
    • Review scheme for recognition of diver medic scheme
    • Publication of high voltage training syllabus
    • Review basic safety training guidance (with SEL core activity)
    • Develop guidance on the training of supervisors (with SEL core activity)
    • Develop approach to recognition of initial diver training (with Diving Division)
    • Develop ROV training dossier (with Remote Systems & ROV Division)
    • Develop and issue crane operator's logbook
     
  • Certification:
    • Assessment of entry level qualifications for medics onboard
    • Development of a common approach to medical certification for areas where no such certification exists
     
  • Careers promotion:
    • Update IMCA careers promotional material, including use of case studies of recent recruits, to address skills shortages
