Guidance on Thruster-Assisted Station Keeping by FPSOs and Similar Turret-Moored Vessels
|
In the light of the advent of deepwater exploration and turret-moored FPSOs, a need was seen to revisit the use of thruster assist systems. By considering both what can be achieved technically and what can be done practically, this document aims to give design and operational help to projects with turret-moored facilities.
The document takes into account work by the ISO working group on station keeping, the position mooring standard currently being developed by DnV and feedback received from the operators of such vessels.
