IMCA Remote Systems & ROV Division

Contracting Issues in the ROV Sector

As part of its ongoing work programme, IMCA's Remote Systems & ROV Division has considered contracting issues, the products of which work are aimed at raising awareness of contracting issues among IMCA members and their clients.

It should be noted that all documents are produced solely for guidance and to raise awareness in this way and that they are not binding. Each IMCA member is free to enter into whatever contracts and commercial agreements it deems to be in its interests.

ROV Services: Key Commercial Issues

IMCA has issued a position statement on how ROV operators and contractors might resolve various key commercial issues. The guidelines cover a range of sensitive topics, including recovery of lost ROVs; ROV demobilisation and shipment ashore; crew change; downtime/maintenance provisions; and rate escalation.
