Work Programme

The following work programme was agreed at the beginning of 2006. It sets out the technical projects to be addressed by the Remote Systems & ROV Division over the coming year, in line with the Association's overall objectives.

• New projects:
  • Run ROV seminar alongside oi06
  • Undertake research into ROV umbilicals
  • Undertake research into buoyancy equipment
   
• Continuation/finalisation of projects underway:
  • Develop ROV support vessel contract
   
• Review/update existing guidance:
  • Consider feedback from regional sections on existing guidance
  • IMCA S 008 - Digital video offshore - starting Q4 2006 (with Offshore Survey Division)
  • Review careers promotional material to address skills shortage
   
• Ongoing initiatives:
  • Continue to work with a world-wide focus, incorporating and supporting work within regional sections and sub-groups
  • Continue to assist members in implementation of competence assurance and assessment schemes in the sector
  • Continue to attract new members
  • Review of manning level guidance for work-class ROVs
   
• Third-party liaison:
  • Monitor and seek to influence releveant ISO, NORSOK and other standards and certification bodies
  • Address NORSOK high voltage training requirements
