Diving Division Sub-Group
Reporting to and working with the global Diving Division Management Committee, the Americas diving sub-group provides a forum for offshore diving contractors in the region to work on topics of common interest.
As indicated by the inclusion of 'Deepwater' in the section's name and confirmed by IMCA's global work and guidance documentation, IMCA and the sub-group is concerned solely with offshore diving operations, recognising different environmental circumstances, operational needs and practices associated with other parts of the commercial diving industry in the region.
The group's chairman serves as a member of the world-wide Diving Division Management Committee, helping enhance the global nature of its work.
Mission Statement
The sub-group has developed the following mission statement which sets out its aims and provides the background and focus for its work:

Work Programme
The sub-group's work programme includes the following:
- Detailed work on training issues, in conjunction with the division's world-wide management committee, seeking to achieve consensus within the framework provided by the IMCA International Code of Practice for Offshore Diving while addressing region-specific operational practices
- Review of existing and new draft IMCA guidance documents and provision of feedback and recommendations to enhance the international nature of such guidance where appropriate
- Building a network of offshore diving contractors in the Americas, including members in the region and promotion of IMCA's role, current work and achievements to clients, regulators and potential members
- Development of other work items reflecting local members' needs and interests and current issues affecting contractors in the region, currently including:
