Offshore Survey Division Sub-Group

Reporting to and working with the global Offshore Survey Division Management Committee, the Americas offshore survey sub-group deals with issues relating to offshore survey operations in the region, including technical (equipment, software, etc.), personnel (education, training and competence) and contracting issues.

The group's chairman serves as a member of the world-wide Offshore Survey Division Management Committee, helping enhance the global nature of its work.

Work Programme

The sub-group's work programme includes the following:

  • Review of existing and new draft IMCA guidance documents and provision of feedback and recommendations to enhance the international nature of such guidance where appropriate, in particular identifying any areas of potential conflict with US regulations
  • Building a network of offshore survey contractors in the Americas, including members in the region and promotion of IMCA's role, current work and achievements to clients, regulators and potential members
  • Development of other work items reflecting local members' needs and interests and current issues affecting contractors in the region, currently including:
  • Review of IMCA competence guidance for the offshore survey sector in the Americas
  • Review of offshore medical certification and survival training needs and provision (in conjunction with the TCPC sub-group
  • Development of other work items reflecting local members' needs and interests and current issues affecting contractors in the region.
