Local Issues for the Europe & Africa Region
The Europe & Africa Section has a work programme tailored to the needs of members in this diverse region, also reflecting the general European base of IMCA's world-wide activities.
The section has identified the following initial programme, in addition to formalising direct links to workgroups on contracts, insurance and offshore welding matters. Links are provided to selected work items where further information is available on this site.
- EU legislation - monitoring, briefing and development of guidance on EU legislation, including the Working Time Directive, working at heights and 'physical agents';
- Security issues relating to work offshore West Africa;
- Health and medical management issues in West Africa;
- Decommissioning;
- Offshore renewable energy;
- Liaison with other industry bodies, such as NOGEPA, OLF, UKOOA and LOGIC. This includes involvement with a number of UK government-industry initiatives.
