Local Issues

The IMCA Middle East & India Section's main areas of work are in relation to liaison with local oil company clients and related organisations on sharing of good practice.

Particular achievements include promotion of the IMCA International Code of Practice for Offshore Diving across the region, notably adopted by a number of national oil companies as the basis for their own diving requirements.

Growing membership in recent years across all four technical divisions - Diving, Marine, Offshore Survey and Remote Systems & ROV - has seen an expansion of this activity, with recognition of IMCA guidance across the full range of marine contracting operations spreading ever wider.
