The Committee aims to help ensure that offshore survey activities are carried out safely, effectively, and consistently across a fast-evolving industry, producing guidance for surveyors and also those working alongside survey teams, to improve shared understanding of survey activities and support better operational outcomes.

It does this by bringing together the practical experience, technical knowledge, and industry perspectives from across IMCA’s membership. The Committee supports wider initiatives that strengthen competence, encourage workforce development, and help ensure offshore survey guidance remains relevant to current and future industry needs. It also engages with external organisations and industry groups on topics of shared interest, to support shared understanding and alignment in offshore survey matters.

Members with an interest in offshore survey are encouraged to share their views, and to get involved in technical workgroups, by contacting Sara McQuillan, Assistant Technical Adviser – Offshore Survey.
