Meet Gerry Muir, UKHSE

Gerry Muir recently replaced Trevor Johnson as Team Lead for the Wind and Marine Energy Team at the UK Health & Safety Executive.

About Gerry

Gerry Muir joined the UK Health & Safety Executive straight from University in 1999, however he didn’t go to University until he was in his mid-thirties so had had quite of bit of very varied work experience before then.

He has worked in a number of Industry sectors in HSE, most recently in Construction until 2018 when he joined what was then the Renewables Team, now the Wind and Marine Energy Team, working for Trevor Johnson who he now succeeds as Team Lead.

Gerry believes that this is by far the most interesting work he has done in HSE, not just pushing at an open door but being welcomed in to an Industry that is positive about engaging with HSE to drive health and safety standards ever upwards.  He has already seen tremendous improvements made because you are willing to take ownership of issues and innovatively and collaboratively work to address them.

He look forwards to continuing Trevor’s good work with IMCA in the coming years.
