Encouraging uptake for IMCA's personal resilience videos

Published on 1 March 2018

  • Over 2,000 downloads in first four weeks
  • Developed by leading members of IMCA for use by the offshore oil & gas industry

The International Marine Contractors Association’s (IMCA) Resilience Awareness Programme, launched online in late January, is demonstrating highly encouraging downloading statistics. The first four weeks have seen well over 2,000 downloads from the IMCA website and its YouTube page.

The programme was developed by leading members of IMCA eager to help the industry’s workforce cope and adjust to challenging issues in recent years. It is tailored specifically for the men and women working in the marine contracting industry but is freely available to all sectors for the betterment of the whole industry.

Allen Leatt, IMCA CEO, explains: “The free-to-use programme is a great example of how IMCA can step-in to promote and develop a project of common interest to our membership.”

A comment from one user sums up some of the reactions IMCA has received: “the videos are very interesting and are reminding me about my own positivity and resilience that I can reach for. The programme also helped me think about how I can support my team through any change, should I need to.”

Filming took place onboard vessels of Subsea 7, Saipem, and Heerema Marine Contractors. The programme is sponsored by IMCA’s board member companies: Allseas, Fugro, Heerema Marine Contractors, Saipem, Subsea 7, TechnipFMC and McDermott International, and is based on a Shell concept.
