Diving operations in support of intervention on wellheads and subsea facilities

December 2023 – Rev. 02 – Quality check; headers, footers & document map updated; no change to content

January 1999 – Initial publication

The diving industry routinely performs a wide range of tasks on subsea facilities.

This guidance has been written to assist both operators and contractors in reducing the risks to divers when executing such tasks. Typically, these tasks involve wellhead intervention work, flow base installation, umbilical tie-in, control module installation/replacement, and also general inspection, repair and maintenance activities. When planning such tasks, hazard identification and work control are critical, especially when commissioning or when concurrent production activities are ongoing.
