Diving
Our aim
The primary aim of IMCA’s Diving Division Management Committee is to promote good practice in the offshore diving industry on an international basis.
Our activities
We are engaged in all aspects of equipment, operations, and personnel related to offshore diving operations. We maintain up to date guidance documents on all aspects of diving. Our authoritative diving code of practice and suite of diving equipment DESIGN documents (Diving Equipment Systems Inspection Guidance Notes) are key elements in our comprehensive technical library.
IMCA provides secretariat services to the independent Diving Medical Advisory Committee (DMAC) comprising diving medical specialists from around the world who provide advice on medical and certain safety aspects of commercial diving. Given our shared interest in diving safety IMCA works closely with ADCI and IOGP, and collectively form the International Diving Industry Forum (IDIF).

Diving Manager
Contact
IMCA is very active in the field of offshore diving industry qualifications. Our diving supervisor and life support technician certification schemes are held in the highest regard. IMCA also approves a number of diver medical technician courses around the world and publishes guidance on the medical examination of divers. While IMCA recognises the diving qualifications of certain certificate issuing authorities the Association does not approve individual basic in-water diver training schools or courses, which are regulated by national governments.
For further details see our certification and training pages.
