It does this by sharing the deep knowledge, expertise, and real-life offshore diving experiences of IMCA’s membership base with a number of global organisations, such as the International Maritime Organization (IMO), as well as local regulators including the HSE, US Coast Guard, and Havtil.

It supports the independent Diving Medical Advisory Committee (DMAC) which ensures medical diving specialists can advise on the safety aspects of commercial diving and, alongside the Association of Diving Contractors International (ADCI) and International Association of Oil & Gas Producers (IOGP), forms the International Diving Industry Forum (IDIF).

Working closely with the Secretariat, it oversees IMCA’s Continuous Professional Development (CPD) programmes for the Diving industry, including our popular Diving CPD App. It also oversees IMCA's approved training provider programme for trainee diving roles.
