Marine Autonomous Surface Systems

The MASS Committee provides Guidance to industry in the use of Marine Autonomous Surface Systems including following technological developments, providing guidelines on use and audit processes and providing direction and regulatory developments in MASS vessels, subsurface, surface and secondary systems operated in conjunction with those vessels.

It achieves this through facilitating and developing internationally approved MASS regulations, influencing and collaborating with key regulators, international agencies and industry bodies and ensures that when employed, MASS conform to safe practices and are in themselves intrinsically safe vessels.

It examines areas where the application of this technology can assist in cutting costs and addresses all bodies that manufacture or operate MASS, Marine vessels, and any ROC or AI sub-system.
