Europe & Africa regional webinar – 8 December 2020
Registration is open for the International Marine Contractors Association (IMCA) Europe & Africa Regional Webinar taking place on 8 December (10:00-11:30 GMT).
The webinar will focus on “The effect of energy transition on vessels”.
David Bloom, IMCA’s Europe & Africa Engagement Director commented:
“With the world and our industry, accepting the need for energy transition, this creates a new market for many of the vessels historically working in the energy industries. There will be opportunities to transfer expertise and many vessel owners are already looking at how they can improve and minimise carbon emissions. Our speakers will give a detailed insight into several alternative fuels including ammonia and hydrogen, two of the leading contenders for new fuel sources”.
Guest speakers:
- Eva Peño, Bureau Veritas – Alternative/future fuels
- Luca Lori, Alfa Lavel – Ammonia as a fuel source
- Paul Hughes, Sterling PlanB – Battery power
- Edwin Van Leeuwen, Ulstein – Hydrogen fuel cells
