IMCA's Contractual Relevance – Lessons Learnt event

Published on 29 April 2013

The International Marine Contractors Association (IMCA) has, over the years, published a variety of guides, templates and discussion documents aimed at raising awareness on contracting issues, promoting discussion and providing tools that may be useful for its contractor members, their clients and sub-contractors. In recent years it has held an annual contracting event aimed at updating members, and their clients, on key issues. The latest in this series ‘Contractual Relevance – Lessons Learnt’ will be held on the afternoon of Tuesday 21 May onboard HQS Wellington, Temple Stairs, Victoria Embankment, London.

“In the past this has been an ‘invitation only’ event, but we are throwing it open to a wider audience to keep them fully informed about developments within IMCA in general, and on contracting issues in particular,” explains IMCA’s Chief Executive, Chris Charman.”Ours is a global industry in which IMCA members employ hundreds of thousands of people, generate and estimated figure in excess of US$150 billion in revenues, and inject billions of dollars of tax income to global economies. Not surprisingly, effective contracting principles play a key role.”

The afternoon will feature presentations and discussion on the origins of LOGIC with a presentation by David Odling; contractual issues in the FPSO sector, led by Oliver Kassam and Alessandro Rigutto from SBM Offshore; contractual issues in the marine renewables sector; and a workshop on how to address and approach contracting issued in the FPSO and marine renewables sectors.

“We are looking forward to an extremely interesting and stimulating afternoon of discussion and debate,” says Chris Charman.”Our annual HQS Wellington Social Reception follows at 18:30.”

Those wishing to attend ‘Contractual Relevance – Lessons Learnt’ should email [email protected] or call +44 (0)20 7824 5520 to reserve their place. There is no charge for attending.
