Bill joined IMCA in November 2021 and has 25 years of experience in the commercial diving industry. 

Prior to joining, Bill spent 12 years at the Health & Safety Executive in the UK regulating the safety of divers working in the offshore energy and other sectors of the diving industry. During his time at the HSE, Bill also worked as a decommissioning specialist. 

Bill worked as an air and saturation diver on a wide range of diving projects and also held a variety of topside positions, including project engineer and project manager. 

He holds a BSc (Hons) in Geography; an MSc in Marine Resource Management; and an MSc in Decommissioning.

In January 2024 Bill was promoted to Diving Manager.

David supports IMCA in developing and expanding its engagement with energy companies and the broader industry in Europe and Africa. 


He joined the offshore industry in 1975 with Oceaneering, and during a two decade career held various roles, including General Manager of the Southern North Sea and West African business units, before spending three years at McDermott Subsea as Business Development Manager in the North Sea and West Africa.

In 1998 David joined Brown & Root as UK Business Development Manager, and in the years that followed played a crucial part in a number of significant business integrations and acquisitions leading up to the merger of Acergy and Subsea7 in 2011. In 2016 he was awarded the outstanding contribution award at Subsea UK.

Fiza is a Senior Analyst at Rystad Energy, focusing on Africa’s oil and gas markets. She provides in-depth research and analysis on upstream developments, licensing, geopolitics, LNG,  fiscal regimes, economics, etc. offering data-driven insights to help clients navigate the continent’s evolving energy landscape. Passionate about connecting regional dynamics to global market trends, Fiza contributes to industry reports, strategic calls, and conferences, delivering clear and actionable analysis for decision-makers in the energy sector.

Julius is the Founder/ MD & CEO SUBWEB Technical Academy Limited and SUBWEB Oil & Gas Services Limited.

He is a skilled pipeline, subsea & diving project manager/engineer with over 28 years' experience overseeing projects, coordinating various disciplines including engineering, procurement, execution, inspection, testing, and transportation successful.

My role and responsibilities involve project planning, scheduling, coordinating, and monitoring engineering and procurement activities related to assigned projects.

Geoffrey has over 40 years of experience in the marine and diving industry. He spent 10 years as a Diving Officer in Nigerian Navy, 15 Years in the commercial oil and gas diving industry and 15 Years administering commercial diving industry

He is the founder of West African Diving Academy, West African Oilfield Divers, West African Divers Medical Centre, West African Divers Hall of Fame, West African Oil & Gasfield Divers Group. 

He is also the co-founder of the Diving Schools Association of Nigeria, the Oil and Gas Diving Contractors Association of Nigeria and the Diving and Subsea Contractors Association of Nigeria.

Gertrude Adwoa Ohene-Asienim, FICS, is an accomplished Chartered Shipbroker, Maritime Consultant, and maritime educator with over two decades of experience in the maritime and oil & gas sectors. She leads Whitestone Shipbrokers Ghana Ltd. and the West Africa School of Shipping, driving excellence in maritime education and industry development across the region.

She specialises in maritime law, marine insurance, international commercial law, and petroleum law, and has led major projects as Country Manager for top multinational oil and gas firms.

 She holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Maritime Law from the University of Oslo and is the first female Chartered Shipbroker (fellow) in West Africa.

Her leadership extends globally:

·         Chairperson, Membership Committee, Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers (London), first woman to hold this position

·         President, WISTA Ghana, promoting women in shipping and trade

·         Board Member, ICC Ghana, influencing trade and governance policy

 

Gertrude is also a part-time lecturer at the Regional Maritime University and a regular speaker at international maritime conferences, where she shares insights on shipping, trade, and oil & gas. Her work bridges leadership, policy, and education, making her a key voice in Africa’s maritime transformation.

Capt. Gurjit Singh is a Master Mariner with over two decades of global maritime experience, spanning across vessel operations, offshore projects, and shore-based leadership positions. Currently serving as Business Process Team Leader (Offshore) at Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement (BSM), a global leader in ship management with a strong commitment to innovation and sustainability. At BSM, he leads strategic initiatives in offshore compliance, digital transformation, process optimization, and stakeholder engagement. An MBA graduate and DP Unlimited license holder, Gurjit is passionate about aligning operational excellence with strategic growth for BSM across international markets.

Jannie began his marine career in 2005. Specializing in Navigation & Communication, he served as a service engineer, radio, and VDR surveyor with an astute understanding of control systems. His background includes naval support for submarines and surface combat vessels, managing steering and navigation. He played a pivotal role in establishing a DP Trials division for a saturation dive system manufacturer, developing its DP section and honing skills at their NI-approved DP Training Centre. Jannie has been performing IMCA DP trials since 2012.

He is now a lead DP Trials & Assurance Practitioner for Mackay Marine, recognized for his expertise with DP systems and commitment to training and quality assurance.

Joshua is the Director at BSM Ghana. He is also a Lecturer, Regional Maritime University, Master Mariner, Marine Surveyor and STCW Trainer. He has over eleven years of sea experience as a Deck Officer and Master.

Mary began her career in the oil and gas industry developing, implementing, and managing environmental management programmes for projects in Angola, Egypt, Turkey, the Middle East and the UK.

Most recently she was involved in the development and application of net zero sustainability strategies and the application ESG frameworks on major projects in the UK. 

Mary is a chartered environmentalist with the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA), She holds a bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry, a Master of Science degree in Pollution and Environmental Control from the University of Manchester, and most recently a certification in Business Sustainability Management from the University of Cambridge.

Robert began as a deckhand on shrimp trawlers at 16. In 1974, he became a Hookah Diver and advanced through Surface Supplied Air Diving to becoming a Saturation Diver in the North Sea by 1977.  In June 1979 2W nominated Bob as Supervisor for Diving Operations although he did continue Diving as well.

In 1990 he founded Aquatec Marine Services Ltd which is a 100% Ghanaian-owned company specialising in offshore and inshore diving operations up to 50 metres, using IMCA-spec equipment and personnel.

We operate from our well-positioned support base at the Tema Main Port, with direct water access for swift mobilisation.

With decades of experience, Aquatec has delivered underwater solutions across Ghana, Cote D’Ivoire, Togo, Benin, Nigeria, Gabon, Cameroon, Liberia and Angola.

AMS are members of IMCA (the only fully Ghanaian-owned member) and are ISO certified (9001, 14001 and 45001), certified by Lloyd’s, DNV, and ABS, and recognised by the Petroleum Commission Ghana and ADC UK.

Sarah is the youngest diver in the Ghana Navy. She is one of three women in the diving wing of the Western Naval Command. She is experienced in underwater operations, including ship inspections, and search and recovery missions.
