Applications are now open for the IMCA Competence & Training (C&T) Committee.
The Competence & Training Committee focuses on the continuous improvement of competence standards, industry standardisation and the development of strategic partnerships that help IMCA Members deliver effective training and competence programmes for safety-critical roles. Working closely with industry partners, the Committee helps ensure safety remains the priority as the offshore sector continues to evolve. It also oversees competence initiatives, guidance and workforce development activities that support the industry's ongoing skills and capability needs.
As one of IMCA's longest-established and most influential committees, the C&T Committee brings together experienced industry leaders and subject matter experts to help shape the future of competence, training and workforce capability across the global marine contracting industry.
Who are we looking for?
We are seeking applications from experienced professionals employed by IMCA Member companies who can demonstrate a proven track record of leadership, technical expertise and strategic influence in competence, training and workforce development.
Applicants should have significant responsibility for leading, managing, designing, implementing, governing or influencing programmes, frameworks or initiatives in areas such as:
- Competence assurance
- Training and workforce development
- Certification and accreditation
- Workforce capability and talent development
- Technical standards and professional development
We are particularly interested in individuals who have held senior roles with responsibility for strategy, governance, programme leadership, organisational improvement or industry representation.
What will Members contribute?
Committee Members are expected to:
- Provide strategic industry insight and expert advice
- Share practical experience and emerging industry trends
- Contribute to the development of IMCA guidance and initiatives
- Support industry best practice and workforce development
- Participate actively in committee discussions, working groups and activities
This is a strategic industry committee. Members are expected to bring recognised expertise, professional credibility and demonstrable experience of influencing organisational, industry or workforce development decisions. The Committee is seeking individuals who can contribute strategic insight and leadership.
Eligibility
In line with the Committee Terms of Reference and IMCA's governance arrangements:
- Applicants should be employed by an IMCA member company.
- Appointments are made through IMCA's open application process, with candidates selected on the basis of their experience, expertise, contribution potential and the overall balance and representation needs of the Committee
- Selection will consider relevant expertise, experience, regional representation and the current needs of the Committee.
- Normally, only one representative from an organisation may serve on the Committee at any one time.
- Commercial interests and potential conflicts of interest will be considered in accordance with IMCA governance requirements.
- Applicants should have the endorsement of their employer to participate actively in committee activities.
Successful applicants will typically have experience leading, managing, designing, implementing or governing competence, training, certification, accreditation or workforce development programmes and be able to demonstrate the impact of those activities within their organisation or the wider industry.
