IMCA’s DP CPD learning is moving from EdApp to IMCA Skills, our recently launched leading, digital, learning hub, which will now be the new home for the marine industry’s competence and development needs.
IMCA Skills is designed to make professional development and competency assurance simpler, richer, and better value for users and part of IMCA’s plan to be at the forefront of technology.
This change is part of our plan to modernise how we deliver learning and skill content, bringing all our CPD content together in one secure and easy-to-use platform, with improved navigation, clearer progress tracking, and enhanced access across devices, both on or offline.
As the leading marine body for safety guidance, our CPD and learning offering is no different. With over
230 Guidance documents and 250 Information Notes that cover critical aspects of offshore operations including, diving, marine, ROV, and offshore survey, we’re uniquely placed to offer industry professionals everything they need to maintain their knowledge, demonstrate their competence, and address their career development needs to the high standards IMCA is known for.
The first step in the launch of IMCA Skills is the migration and withdrawal of EdApp and the launching of a dedicated IMCA managed DP CPD app, which will of course continue to be accredited by the Nautical Institute for DPO certificate revalidation.
The migration is planned for 24 February 2026 and the transition will be fully supported. Existing users are encouraged to complete any partially finished modules before the current app is withdrawn, as only finished modules will be migrated to the new platform. IMCA Skills will continue to roll out in stages with the Diving CPD app also being migrated in the future, as well as more tools and functions and even free and premium resources to support you in your learning and development.
