IMCA welcomes Jo Deal as new Head of Membership Engagement

IMCA has appointed membership and client engagement specialist Jo Deal to the newly-created role of Head of Membership Engagement.

A member of IMCA’s Leadership Team, Jo will act as the voice of Members within IMCA and will be responsible for improving Member-focussed processes, such as Membership renewals, for enhancing Member participation in IMCA’s work, and for identifying new opportunities to provide best-in-class service.

Jo will lead IMCA’s global network of Member Engagement professionals and IMCA’s London-based Membership Services Group. Her international experience and expertise in strategic account management will support IMCA’s ongoing work with Members across our technical and regional programmes.

Jo brings more than 15 years’ experience in strategic partnerships, customer engagement, and commercial growth across complex business-to-business environments, including 13 years at the Institution of Engineering and Technology, where she focused on strengthening member relations and engagement. In other roles, Jo has led client engagement initiatives across multi-sector organisations in the UK, India, and China.

Supporting Members and ensuring their voice is represented is central to my work.

On her appointment, Jo said: “My experience in partnerships with global, technically advanced, safety-critical organisations such as Subsea 7, Fugro, and McDermott International, has deepened my understanding of international stakeholder relationships and the expert culture that defines global technical sectors.

“Supporting Members and ensuring their voice is represented is central to my work. I look forward to working with IMCA colleagues, and with our global Membership, to develop strategies and initiatives that provide clear value and meaningful engagement for Members worldwide.”

IMCA CEO Iain Grainger said: “We are delighted to welcome Jo Deal to the team. Her expertise in Member engagement, combined with her track record in growing and strengthening strategic partnerships makes her ideally placed to lead our global Membership approach. I am confident she will make a real difference to the services we provide to both Members and the wider industry, and be a valuable addition to the Secretariat.”
