Summary

Ships enter, leave and move within port limits regularly.

Mooring, unmooring, and maintaining a vessel alongside a berth or another vessel is potentially a very hazardous operation unless simple and effective safety procedures are followed.

Mooring accidents remain a significant and common occurrence, often resulting in severe injuries or fatalities.
