IMCA distributes safety-related alerts throughout the global industry, helping share lessons learnt and avoid repeat incidents.

The following series are available.  Alerts are generally publicly available, but may be restricted to IMCA members where of a less critical, more technically-focused nature.

For details on how to contribute, or IMCA’s other initiatives built on contributed safety-related data, please see our incident reporting and analysis page.

Select from the series below for more details:

  • Safety FlashesIMCA safety flashes disseminate important information on incidents and potential hazards and the lessons learnt from them that can help prevent incidents occurring elsewhere in the industry. Traditionally published as collections (available for download from this site), the alerts are also now available individually online, tagged and searchable. All members are encouraged to contribute relevant safety-related information - see our guide to the safety flash submission and approval process. A summary for 2018 safety flashes has now been published.
  • DP BulletinsDP station keeping bulletins enhance the traditional reporting and analysis of dynamic positioning station keeping events and incidents. They ensure that the industry is provided with prompt feedback, including anonymous factual event trees of events reported to IMCA. All members are encouraged to contribute relevant information – see our guide to the DP event report submission and approval process. In January 2018, IMCA issued a [linktobriefing imcaid=1392] with further details on DP events in 2017 and the reporting system.
