Global Offshore Wind
The largest dedicated UK offshore wind event is returning to Excel, London on Wednesday 14 and Thursday 15 June 2023.
With more than 5,000 attendees from more than 50 countries, 200 exhibitors, 100 hours of programme content and over 200 speakers, attendance is vital for anyone working in offshore wind.
The conference and exhibition will be a display of the latest innovations, technologies, and inspiring collaborations within the offshore wind industry, organised by Renewables UK.
IMCA is a supporting organisation for Global Offshore Wind 2023 and will be hosting a panel discussion on Achieving Sustainable Offshore Wind Contracting Principles on Thursday 15 June 2023 at 1.15pm in the Supply Chain Hub area of the Conference and Exhibition.
Building on the IMCA campaign to date, the 45-minute discussion with industry leaders explores how the offshore and energy sectors can come together to collaboratively address the risk and cost challenges that offshore wind is facing around the globe, and will feature Hugo Bouvy (Deme Offshore), Anne-Marie Coyle (GE Renewable Energy), and Richard Haydock (BP), as well as incoming CEO of IMCA, Iain Grainger.
Attendance to our session is open to anyone with a GOW 23 conference pass (available to purchase now from their website).

Director for Client Engagement – Europe & Africa
As director for client engagement, David supports the Association in developing and expanding its engagement with oil companies and the broader industry.
David joined the offshore industry in 1975 with Oceaneering, and during a 20 year career held various roles, including General Manager of the Southern North Sea and West African business units, before spending three years at McDermott Subsea as Business Development Manager in the North Sea and West Africa. In 1998 he joined Brown & Root as UK Business Development Manager, and in the years that followed played a crucial part in a number of significant business integrations and acquisitions leading up to the merger of Acergy and Subsea 7 in 2011.
In 2016 he was awarded the Outstanding Contribution Award at the Subsea UK annual awards.

Head of Energy Transition & incoming CEO
Iain Grainger has over 30 years experience in offshore marine construction around the world. He spent the early part of his career engineering and managing the installation of major offshore infrastructure before moving into commercial and strategy roles with tier one contractors.
Iain is a chartered engineer and has an MBA. He is a past president of the International Marine Contractors Association (IMCA) and is currently supporting IMCA in expanding their position in offshore renewables.
On 2 May 2023, Iain was announced as new CEO of IMCA from 1 June.

Technical Adviser – Marine Renewable Energy
Rhys Jones joined IMCA in June 2022 as Technical Adviser for Marine Renewable Energy.
Rhys worked for RenewableUK for 12 years as Head of Technical Affairs with a strong focus on offshore wind, health, safety and wellbeing, and regulatory compliance. Rhys has developed various industry good practice guidance documents for these areas and run many industry committees associated with this.
Prior to joining RenewableUK Rhys worked for Petrofac Training Services as Staff Training Manager Survival & Marine which also brings the added benefit to IMCA of a strong competence and training background.
