IMCA is proud to sponsor this industry event and is pleased to be part of this year’s speaking programme with presentations from Technical Advisers Nadine Robinson and Andre Rose.

We are delighted to have Eric Primeau from BP co-present with Andre Rose on USVs. Eric sits on both our MASS Committee and USV Workgroup.

This event is scheduled to suit an international audience, starting at 1100hrs BST each day, closing at 2000hrs BST.

Tackling Environmental Sustainability and the Energy Transition :  From words to action
  • Nadine Robinson, Technical Adviser – Environmental Sustainability

Nadine will examine how the subsea industry has responded to increased calls for environmental and climate action.  This presentation will cover key terms, and drivers, and offer examples of commitments and actions.  It will introduce IMCA Environmental Sustainability Code of Practice, illustrating what is good environmental stewardship for our industry.

Nadine is speaking in Session 6 starting at 1245hrs BST followed by Q&A on 21 April

Nadine Robinson
Technical Adviser, Environmental Sustainability

Nadine joined IMCA as Technical Adviser in May 2020. She leads our environmental sustainability strategy and related programme of member engagement on a global level.

Nadine brings a wealth of experience to IMCA having held positions as Technical Director (Climate Disclosure Standards Board in CDP), as an Environmental Consultant, Environmental Policy Lecturer (Birkbeck College), Economic Advisor on Climate Change (Commonwealth Secretariat), Shipping Finance Solicitor (Allen & Overy). She has also held various policy and research roles in Government and UNDP advising on environment, climate finance, energy, the green and blue economy, and sustainable development.

Nadine holds a BA (McGill University) and an MA (York University, Canada) in Geography.

Uncrewed Surface Vessels: What next?

A joint presentation from IMCA and BP addressing different aspects of uncrewed surface vessels.

Andre will briefly cover USV history and development, regulatory position and challenges which currently exist and IMCA’s involvement and ambition. Eric will give the perspective from a major operator, who have been involved with these systems from their earliest use in energy fields, and how their future use is perceived.  

Eric and Andre are speaking in Session 22 starting at 1715hrs BST followed by Q&A on 21 April.

Andre Rose
Technical Adviser – Competence & Training, Digitalisation, Remote Systems and ROV

Andre joined IMCA in November 2018. He has spent most of the last 18 years working in the ROV industry. This has included time as a Pilot/Technician, Superintendent, ROV Manager and Client Representative.

Andre has a background with the Royal Navy, where he spent 19 years in its Fleet Air Arm working with rotary and fixed wing aircraft. Initially, he completed an apprenticeship in aircraft mechanical engineering, before being trained as an avionics engineer.

When he left the service, after a short time as a technical author with Westland helicopters, he was appointed a Technical Trainer to the Royal Air Force of Oman and the Royal Saudi Air Force.

As well as being a trained ROV Operator and Technician, Andre has a master’s degree in IT from Liverpool University, and is a member of the Institute of Leadership and Management and the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health.

Eric Primeau
Senior Technical Specialist, BP

Eric graduated Plymouth and Heriot Watt universities in Marine Civil Engineering, Hydrographic Surveying & Subsea Engineering. He spent time in field as surveyor, Offshore Manager and Consultant on site investigation, inspection & engineering projects.

Onshore, Eric worked for contractors in Project Management & Business Development. In 2011 Eric commenced with BP as Geomatics Manager for the Caspian, then North Sea.

In 2019 Eric was appointed Senior Technology Specialist for BP to drive technology developments within bp.

Eric is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Civil Engineering Surveyors and a Chartered Engineer.

Eric sits on IMCA’s MASS Committee and USV Workgroup.
