Chartered Mechanical Engineer. Been at TechnipFMC for over 25 years focused on R&D activities related to pipelay and subsea installation. Including diving and ROV activities. Recent focus has been on ropes and subsea lifting, although now moving more into governance and interaction role.
I live in Scotland, have 3 kids so when not working I operate as “Dad’s Taxi service”.
This is the 10th year for the IMCA Lifting and Rigging technical forum, all of which that I have helped organise and chaired. I am still amazed how much we learn through each of them and how many cross company discussions are created, which ultimately have led to new technical developments and improved knowledge sharing across the industry.
