The Marine Safety Forum (MSF) published Safety Flashes 12-36 and 12-37 regarding damage to davit-mounted daughter craft.
What happened?
In the first instance, the damage was caused by the hull of the daughter craft compressing the hollow āDā Rubber pads on the cradle and the hull coming into direct contact with the steel cradle.
In the second, a number of vessels have reported damage to fall wires.
IMCA Safety Flashes summarise key safety matters and incidents, allowing lessons to be more easily learnt for the benefit of the entire offshore industry.
