IMCA South America Regional Meeting

We return to Rio de Janeiro for our South American regional meeting which takes place over two days on Wednesday 8 November and Thursday 9 November 2023.

Iain Grainger will be in attendance in what will be his first regional visit as CEO. He’ll be sharing his vision for IMCA and the industry, as well as discussing recent developments and future opportunities in the region.

On day one, Richard Purser and Graeme Reid, both Technical Advisers – Marine at IMCA, will share the latest from the Secretariat and explore new Dynamic Positioning (DP) guidance and certification changes with attendees. Guest speakers from Petrobras, Cicero, Fugro and the Brazilian Navy will also present to delegates.

On day two Margaret Fitzgerald, Head of Legal & Regulatory Affairs at IMCA will discuss the Greenhouse Gas Strategy at the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and lead a practical workshop on the topic. Other sessions explore practical solutions in this space, including the use of biofuels. View the latest agenda here (coming soon).

The meeting takes place at the Hilton Copacabana in Rio de Janeiro and will continue the conversation from our previous successful session in the same venue in March. Once again, the event will be bi-lingual with sessions in both English and Portuguese and translators will be available at the event. Preferential hotel room rates for IMCA Members are available now via this dedicated link.
