This week IMCA was named Best Maritime Compliance Organisation at the third International Maritime Club (IMC) Golden Shield Excellence Awards.
The Golden Shield Excellence Awards recognise organisations who have earned national or international prominence in the marine, energy, cargo, oil & gas and offshore industries. They focus on leadership, statutory, regulatory compliance, innovation, management and administration, and trade and export services where the recipients have demonstrated the highest level of professionalism and served as a role model for current and future organisations.
IMCA was nominated for our commitment to safety over more than 50 years. Sir Sohan Roy, President of the International Maritime Club, and Founder Chairman & CEO of the Aries Group presented the awards.
The ceremony took place at the Insurance Hall in London on Wednesday 13 September 2023 and among the other 25 nominees were the Royal Institution of Naval Architects (RINA), the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) and the Seafarers Charity, along with a number of prominent insurance companies.
Iain Grainger, IMCA CEO said: “On behalf of IMCA, I would like to thank the International Maritime Club for this award which is a huge honour.”
“Having been in role as CEO for only a few months, I cannot take personal credit – as much as I would like to! – but it is a testament to the great work of my predecessor Allen Leatt in building a passionate, knowledgeable and dedicated team focused on serving our Members and improving performance in the industry.”
The International Maritime Club (IMC) has served the maritime community for 16 years by acting as a platform where professionals from various maritime industry sectors come together under one roof to exchange knowledge and ideas on maritime trade and industry.
