New colleagues welcomed boosting skills and capacity

Published on 22 November 2023

IMCA is delighted to welcome three new colleagues to the team to boost skills and capacity in strategic areas for the Secretariat.

John Kingston – Technical Document Assurance Co-ordinator

John will support the delivery of IMCA’s Technical Library and work with the team of Technical Advisers to ensure greater consistency across IMCA’s technical documents.

As a Technical Writer, John has worked continuously in the marine oil and gas sector since 2011, when he joined the team revising BP Shipping’s fleet operating management system, with new documentation being approved by the Plain English Campaign before issue.

He then worked as a Technical Writer on numerous offshore energy projects for operators (BP, TotalEnergies), contractors (Wood Group, Aker Solutions) and suppliers (Birkdale Energy, CMIST).

John is currently studying for a diploma with the National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH).

Johanna joins IMCA as our new Events Specialist and will work across the organisation to support delivering our global events offering to our members and the industry.

Working within the events industry for over two decades, Johanna has delivered proprietary and third-party trade shows, conferences and special events for the oil and gas, financial services and, most recently, defence sectors.

Commenting on the three recent appointments to the team, Iain Grainger, IMCA CEO, said: “We’re delighted to welcome these new faces to IMCA who bring with them new ideas, energy, and enthusiasm as we strive to serve our Members better – whether in the production of technical documents, our environmental and sustainability work, or delivering an engaging event programme. “I’m sure you will all join me in warmly welcoming John, Grace and Johanna to IMCA, and I look forward to working closely with them all.”
